Join us for a wildlife extravaganza, exploring one of Cornwall’s finest rock pooling sites and the amazing wildlife that live there.

A public Rock Pool Project event at Polurrian Bay, Cornwall

We bring experts and the public together through our guided rock pooling activities. These events will teach you about these habitats and bring them to life. You will also conduct fun surveys that contribute to our marine wildlife research. Through these events, we are building a detailed picture of how our coastal wildlife changes from place to place and from time to time. Following your activity, you will receive detailed personalised information about what species you have found and how they have helped the project to learn about our marine wildlife.

Our public events will start again in February 2020

Until then we are still available for private bookings

All of the species you spot will be photographed using one of our waterproof cameras, and these images will provide a record that will be checked by our experts and submitted to the National Biodiversity Network.

Please ensure that all children and adults bring suitable footwear: Wellies are best, walking boots are ok too. Flip flops are a definite no go!

Staff leading our children’s events are outdoor first aid trained and have DBS clearance.
