TIME 2 MOVE

New Sessions Available!

This Summer Holiday, we are running a ‘beach only’ school holiday session, which complement our regular Time 2 Move school holiday club. These sessions are for two hours and are 100% rock pooling based (food is not provided).

Meeting Place: Princess Pavilion Gazebo.

Price: £13.50 per child.

This Summer as part of Active Cornwall’s Time 2 Move programme we have a total of 9 rock pooling events for school children! Each event is 4 hours long, including 2 hours of rock pooling, with additional rock pool themed activity booklets and food which is provided.
This event is FREE for children on Free School Meals with additional spaces for paid spaces.

School Holiday Rock Pooling

Come along to explore the weird and wonderful wildlife of Falmouth’s rocky shores and beaches, and learn about the importance of the sea for all life on Earth. We’ll also provide an hour of exercise and a delicious, healthy lunch courtesy of Princess Pavilion in Falmouth.

 
These events are suitable for all youngsters (5-16) with an interest in or desire to learn more about our local beaches and their amazing wildlife. The Rockpool Project team is knowledgeable and enthusiastic and sure to find something to ignite your imagination about the world beneath the waves! Parent and guardians are welcome to join in too!

School Holiday Rock Pooling

Come along to explore the weird and wonderful wildlife of Falmouth’s rocky shores and beaches, and learn about the importance of the sea for all life on Earth. We’ll also provide an hour of exercise and a delicious, healthy lunch courtesy of Princess Pavilion in Falmouth.

WEATHER: We will run sessions in most weather conditions. Typically, sessions will be partly outdor and partly indoor in the Falmouth Pavillion. If weather conditions are predicted to be dangerous then sessions may be cancelled with 24 hours notice.
 
On the day:
  • Parent/guardians are welcome to join – FREE OF CHARGE (meals not included)
  • Arrive at the Falmouth Pavillion (TR11 4AR) at the time stipulated by the event. We will be meeting at the Princess Pavillion Gazebo.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather. Waterproofs and wellies are a must!
  • You are welcome to bring a camera and notebook but please bear in mind that rockpools can be slippy and the water can be unforgiving to any non-waterproof electricals! These items are not required – we will provide everything necessary.
  • Any keen, young scientists are welcome to bring along species ID books and guides, magnifying glasses and species trays if you have them, but we encourage you to leave nets at home.
  • The only other thing to bring is your enthusiasm and the funniest marine biology jokes you can think of!

COVID safety: All events will be fully compliant with government guidelines. We will continue to practise social distancing and handwashing during our events.
