Just a short walk from the heart of St Andrews, East Sands Beach is a vibrant stretch of golden sand with something for everyone. Families can enjoy hours of fun splashing in the waves, building sandcastles, and exploring the rocky pools teeming with crabs, starfish, and other coastal treasures.
The meeting point will be across from the Scottish Oceans Institute.

From the centre (around Market Street or South Street), head east towards the harbour. • Follow South Street all the way until it narrows and becomes The Scores/East Scores. • Continue past the cathedral ruins and the harbour area. • A pedestrian path will take you directly down to East Sands Beach. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk from the town centre, mostly flat, with lovely views of the cathedral and the sea along the way.
The site can be reached by bus and the closest bus station is The St Andrews Bus Station
